Work Schedule:
Five 8-hour work shifts per week with shifts starting as early as early as 7:
30 a.
m.
and ending as late as 6:
00 p.
m.
Position also works every fourth Saturday.
No residency requirement.

Examples of Duties Responsible for parking enforcement and issuing tickets for parking violations on all City streets, alleys, ramps, lots, public setbacks and terraces, City parks and (upon complaint) on private property by patrolling assigned area on foot and in motor vehicle.
Reports defective parking meters to appropriate Parking Division personnel.
Reports signs for replacement and addition from an enforcement standpoint.
Assists in directing vehicle traffic in parking ramps and lots, assists the public with automated gate equipment (Parking Access Revenue Control System) and individual and multi-space parking meters, and provides information and direction to the public as requested.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent.
Enforcement and/or security experience preferred.
Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
A combination of equivalent experience and/or education may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Considerable knowledge of all City parking ordinances, Parking Division enforcement procedures and services, and City streets.
Considerable skill and ability in enforcing parking regulations and dealing with the public in a courteous, tactful, and firm manner.
Ability to operate Parking Utility vehicles and equipment.
Ability to operate handheld ticket writing unit.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to proficiently utilize a computer and the required software.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public.
Ability to work the required hours of the position.
May be required to demonstrate minimum competency by successfully passing approved tests.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform the following activities:
Lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds.
Frequent standing, walking, and sitting.
Ability to reach and climb.
Ability to work in varied environmental conditions.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
