Position Description:
This role is responsible for understanding the engineering processes, collaborating with the engineering teams to deliver Mechanical Engineering related solutions aligning with business strategy.
The individual is also responsible for the architectural design of platform Mechanical Engineering landscape and will work closely with members of the IT and business organization regarding application, data and process standardization.
Primary Functional
Responsibilities:
Lead the effort to increase the value of BW Converting investment in Mechanical Engineering technologies, standardization, and integration.
Success will be achieved by leveraging technologies already in place and by augmenting them as needed by researching and implementing new technologies.
Directly responsible for implementation/migrations, maintenance, and oversight of systems such as SolidWorks, PDM and associated applications Closely work with engineering work stream leaders and end users of converting platform business segments, understand existing challenges, new requirements and work with internal resources and vendor if necessary to deliver solutions Provide end user support of SolidWorks, PDM applications and the implemented Add-ins and integrations Be the primary point of contact for Application related issues for end users; work closely with product companies and VARs to resolve issues and hold them accountable to deliver on SLAs; Investigate new modules and technologies in support of business priorities Implementing processes and integrations connecting to ERP systems Administration of PDM, taking appropriate actions to ensure data is correct, properly reviewed and organized as well as maintaining, updating, and creating PDM workflows to meet company needs Develop and maintain roadmap for Mechanical Engineering technologies to enable business requirements and solve business problems Lead & Manage engineering application implementation & upgrade projects as required Coordinate consolidation of PDM & future PLM efforts between all Converting platform sites Assist users in defining their requirements when requesting Mechanical Engineering related services.
Perform the analysis, design, build, test and implement as required to satisfy user requests.
Documentation of all processes, procedures, and engineering applications Assist business engineering teams to formulate and maintain basic training programs for all technological systems under the responsibility of the Engineering Systems Analyst - Mechanical Work closely with engineering teams to drives continuous improvements Maintain knowledge of engineering software and hardware trends and make recommendations.
Position Requirements:
Required Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college Desired Skills & Competencies:
Information Technology related experience, Implementing/supporting mechanical engineering systems with minimum of 5 years of data integration experience Advanced knowledge of Mechanical Engineering technologies and processes Expert with SolidWorks suite & PDM as a user and administrator Proficient with SolidWorks 3D modeling and detailing including SolidWorks Sheet Metal Familiarity with competitive / complementary Mechanical Engineering systems Managed engineering application implementation & upgrade projects Experience integrating engineering applications with ERP A strong understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) principles Proven experience interacting with business user in establishing technological requirements and delivering solutions Demonstrated leadership abilities Ability to work in a fast-paced environment of constant change Self-directed individual who works well within a team environment Ability to create business process related documentation from both a technical and end user perspective Experience in working with customers at all levels within an organization Must have very good inter-personal communications skills Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment to plan and accomplish goals on time and to specification #LI-MP1 #LI-AT1 At Barry-Wehmiller we recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job.
