Data Science Software Engineer
Job Overview:
Schneider is seeking a Data Science Software Engineer in Green Bay, WI to create tools and applications that enable data science, optimization and analytics solutions within the enterprise.
The Data Science Software Engineer will put together conceptual prototypes to test new concepts, develop data science products to solve problems, deploy products into the business and monitor the effectiveness of this work.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, implement and support applications across various development environments and in various languages.
Develop, implement and enable advanced analytics technologies.
Collaborate with the engineering and data science teams to develop and apply heuristics and mathematical concepts.
Create prototype applications for solutions to implement approved concepts, guide and monitor prototypes when deployed, transition prototypes into a production system and provide production support after implementation.
Support, troubleshoot and respond to existing advanced-analytics-related issues.
Research purchased and open-source languages, techniques and concepts.
Have on-site presence at our Green Bay headquarters an average of three days per week.
Skills and
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in data science, computer science, information systems, software engineering or related field.
Minimum of two years of IT experience in systems analysis, designing, programming system administration, implementation and maintenance of applications.
Knowledge of advanced analytics software technologies and strategies, technical design and architectural standards, programming, monitoring, basic engineering modeling and troubleshooting that enables software-related technologies.
Business and technical experience in data analytics, application development and operations research.
Business and technical experience in data analytics or data science, application development and operations research.
Experience with HDFS, YARN, Spark and related tools.
Experience with mathematical modeling languages such as DOcplex/CPLEX, Matlab and AMPL.
