Responsibilities:
Responsible for overall marketing influence, promotion, and profitable execution of both Caterpillar and complementary Marine equipment sales to Commercial, OEM, and End-Use customers within an assigned geographic territory and/or specific customers including all other duties as assigned by management.
Develops and implements sales and account strategies in accordance with Fabick Caterpillar goals and initiatives, including professional PowerPoint sales presentations reflective of Caterpillar / Fabick products and services.
Achieve assigned sales growth plans for strategic accounts for revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction/loyalty targets within the specified territory for product sales and product support services.
Establishes long-term relationships within each OEM customer with key decision-makers and influencers; develops a complete understanding of the organization's structure and key buying influences.
Compose and finalize customer quotes for all sales and product support needs-based upon specifications or explicit customer requirements for Cat Allied Vendor Marine products.
Coordinate with customer and project management to ensure accuracy of order.
Organize all ongoing project-related information to ensure projection documentation.
Will act as a liaison between the project management team and the customer to communicate information and/or updates on projects.
Complete all required forms/documentation as necessary to aid in the execution of quoted services and final invoicing of sale.
Regularly attend sales meetings.
Maintain monthly / weekly sales reports to identify business metrics and opportunities within the assigned territory.
Maintain records of customer calls, opportunities, and contact lists utilizing CRM.
Maintain a high degree of industry technical knowledge related to the product, product application, competition, and applicable Federal, State, and Local Codes along with industry Association participation.
Desired Skills
Qualifications:
High school education or GED equivalent with 5
years of equivalent industry experience is required Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or Business is preferred Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Marine Diesel Engine or a related industry.
5 years of relevant sales experience and/or equivalent industry experience is preferred.
Technical background in industrial, marine engines, and related components preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong negotiating skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other business software applications.
Strong problem-solving skills.
High energy level, excellent organizational, attention to detail time management skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently or within a team environment with minimal supervision.
Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
This position requires travel 50-75% of the time.
