Responsibilities:
Functions independently in all areas of the laboratory, performing duties accurately and assisting physicians in diagnostic testing.
Performs selected duties as directed, contributing to patient quality assurance with expertise and accurate results.
Understands the computer system use to maintain accuracy and thoroughness in patient lab billing.
Maintains patient confidentiality.
Performs phlebotomy, and analytical testing in hematology, urinalysis, chemistry, serology and coagulation, maintaining documentation as required by regulations.
Performs and documents quality control in all areas listed in #2.
Enters data in clinical computer system.
Models awareness of and adherence to mission, vision and values of Prevea Health.
Models professional behavior and attire in laboratory and at meetings when representing the laboratory.
Always considers impact to patient care in decision-making.
Keeps work area clean, neat, and organized, complying with OSHA guidelines.
Is responsive to questions concerning laboratory testing from coworkers.
Maintains CPR certification and other required training.
Enhances professional growth and development through continuing education.
Other duties as required or requested by supervisor, manager, or director.

Responsibilities:
Performance Requirements Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a team, participating in reaching a goal, are necessary.
Knowledge of current medical terminology.
Must be able to follow written protocols, utilizing specific laboratory training to perform laboratory testing.
Must be able to interpret and analyze numerical data in relation to known patient information and testing methodology,Education/Experience/Certifications:
Completion of accredited Medical Laboratory program.
ASCP, AMT, or HHS certification required.

Other duties as assigned within scope of practiceTypical Physical Demands:
Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Frequent standing and walking required for extended periods of time.
Ability to carry items up to 50 pounds rarely.
Requires visual acuity correctable to 20/30, ability to differentiate colors and hearing within normal range.
Also requires ability to use standard keyboard and mouse and work with computer screen for some continuous periods.
Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time as well as sitting for long periods of time.
Must be mobile to work in a lab environment.
Medical Laboratory Technicians utilize different work stations that will use different daily bodily motion/function, so the physical demand checklist lists the frequency at which is used most.
Typical Working Conditions:
Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment is possible.
Works in a fast paced clinical / lab environment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
