This position may allow hybrid work for a portion of the work schedule up to 90% depending on the employee's preference and needs of the work unit.

There is no mileage reimbursement when traveling to the headquarter location.

Position Summary This position performs and coordinates a wide variety of complex, top level administrative activities for the Division of Early Care and Education (DECE) Administrator's Office in the Department of Children and Families (DCF).
This position is responsible for independent analysis of issues and follow-up on matters requiring the attention of the Administrator and Deputy Administrator, which involves extensive interaction with the Office of the Secretary, the bureaus, other divisions in DCF, other state and local government officials, the State Legislature and the general public.
This position is privy to confidential matters by having access to, knowledge of, or discussion of confidential and sensitive information and correspondence that impact employee/employer relationships.
This includes proofreading and editing correspondence composed by the Administrator and Deputy Administrator; disciplinary letters; grievance responses; screening phone calls and mail; monitoring the Division's operating budget, tracking employee assignments, etc.
; and participating in Division management meetings where budget and personnel actions are discussed.
Confidential administrative services include preparing materials for briefing the executives in the Office of the Secretary, preparing materials for meetings with DECE managers and communicating decisions and instructions to managers.

Salary Information The classification title for this position is Executive Staff Assistant.
The starting salary is between $20.
24 and $33.
00 per hour ($42,099 and $68,640 annually), depending on qualifications.
Pay for current State of WI employees will be based on the compensation plan in effect at the time of the appointment.
The pay schedule/range is 81-04.
A one-year probationary period may be required.
Job Details Due to the nature of the position, final candidates may be required to allow DCF to conduct a security background check to determine whether the circumstances of any pending charges or convictions would be substantially related to the job being filled.

Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have:
Experience managing calendars for others (scheduling meetings, appointments, travel arrangements, etc.
) Experience providing administrative support for management in an organization (documenting minutes for meetings, organizing materials for meetings or events, developing and maintaining electronic/paper filing systems, researching/ handling background information, etc.
) Experience composing and editing correspondence for management Experience maintaining a tracking system for accountability on tasks, milestones, follow-up, etc.
(work plans, tickler systems, to-do lists, etc.
) Well-qualified applicants will have:
