Job Summary

The Commissioning Engineer is responsible for evaluating the condition of electrical equipment after installation, but before final energization to verify equipment functions as designed. This position will require travel throughout the Wisconsin Public Service's territory and will primarily work in substations and power plant facilities. This role will require field work during a variety of different weather conditions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Complete pre-construction quality assurance checks to assure schematics, wiring diagrams, and physical prints align.
  • Collaborate with various project stakeholders to develop detailed commissioning plans and associated cost estimates.
  • Perform all aspects of electrical protective relay, control, and communication scheme commissioning.
  • Provide training, technical support, and engineering guidance for field personnel as necessary to aid them in performing maintenance and testing of protection systems.
  • Lead and coordinate commissioning activities with various project stakeholders.
  • Provide engineering design support for smaller protection, control, and substation engineering projects.
  • Utilize and apply advanced engineering techniques to resolve complex problems identified during commissioning.

This position is part of the engineering job family (Associate Engineer/Engineer/Senior Engineer). Experience will be the determining factor.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • 0-2 years' relevant engineering experience.
  • Valid driver's license and meet the company's requirements for driving.
  • Candidates must be willing to travel to other company locations and be willing to be called in during off hours if a problem arises.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience engineering, commissioning, troubleshooting, or testing electrical equipment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting one-lines, schematics, and drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written are essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
